Our Weekend on the Farm

Spread the love

We took a long weekend and drove up to Dallas to see my parents…aka Grammy & Grand-Daddy. They live on ten acres of land that we like to call G&G Farm.  We love coming to visit them and getting out of the city for some fresh air.  So we always pray for gorgeous weather and we got it this weekend.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Psalm 19:1

I always feel so refreshed when we leave because we get to spend time with family, and country living always feels like a mini vacation.  It’s when I get away from the busyness of our city life and get out here that I can slow down.  I can’t help but find peace when there’s nothing but the quiet and I’m soaking in God’s creation around me.  There’s so much beauty in the world.  All we have to do is slow down and notice it.  Harper just loves it out here.  I think he’d sleep outside if we let him.  We’re so blessed that our boys will be able to come to Grammy and Grand-Daddy’s farm throughout the years and create these sweet memories, and I’m thankful for technology that I can capture these moments to look back on.

Thank you, Lord, for the beauty you’ve created all around us and for the little reminders to slow down to soak it all in and hear your voice.  Thank you for sweet family and the memories that we’re making that will last a lifetime.
