Home Office Tour | Southern Made Blog - Simple and sleek black, white, and gold home office reveal. @safaviehrugs

Thank you Safavieh for gifting products featured in this post.

I’m so excited to share my home office with y’all! We built our home and moved in a year ago.  There have been so many things I wanted to do and this third baby has helped pushed me into gear.  I’ve had all these ideas floating around in my head for each room and I’m finally seeing it come to life.  We moved the boys upstairs to make room for the nursery downstairs and our office space can finally be what it was made to be.  My vision was clean and simple with pops of gold, black, and white.  I absolutely love how it turned out and I’m so thrilled that I have my own space to be creative.

I’ve found that I can focus better if I don’t have clutter and if everything has its own designated spot. The cubes are perfect for the office accessories that I don’t use daily but need to access occasionally.  A few cookbooks, our home documents, and my essential oil books and scanner also have their own little place for when I need them. There are so many things that I love in this room.  One of my favorites and a piece that I feel makes the space is this gorgeous chair from Safavieh! The furniture and walls are light, so I know I needed some bold black pieces.  When I stumbled upon this chair I knew it would be perfect! It’s also super comfortable, which is just an added perk.

Another favorite is the wall art and I’m pretty obsessed!  A motto of mine in all areas of my life is to do all things in love and it’s pretty special that I can have this bible verse as a focal point.  I found the other canvas last week and it could not be more perfect for a work space.  The frames hold a little piece of my heart when I need to be reminded of what’s important in this life…my sweet boys and my precious husband.

So, if you can’t find me, I’ll be in this gorgeous little space having some quiet time. I’m so excited for 2017 and cannot wait to see all that comes out of this office.

I love the way you used just the black, white, and gold without the usual pops of pink. Don’t get me wrong, I love pink (wearing an obnoxious pink sweater right now), but it’s cool to see something a little different. Now for the important question: how do you keep your office clutter-free (or with less clutter)? I can’t seem to keep all the lighting, clothes, and camera stuff from taking over the whole room!

Thanks so much! It stays like this because the doors stay shut! Lol! I had my office upstairs in a spare bedroom with all of my lighting equipment set up, but I found I didn’t use it too often. I’ve got it put away until I need it but mostly photograph in natural light anyway, so this office space is perfect to hammer out work and have a quiet place.

✨Come along with me for a Chemical Peel with @_s ✨Come along with me for a Chemical Peel with @_sundayskin_ in Brentwood. Check out my stories for more details from @caroline.tingquist.np ✨

If you don’t know anything about chemical peels, you’re going to have some downtime after it due to the peeling. This was my first one and I was a little nervous if I’m being honest. 🙈 This particular peel was the most intense one that Sunday Skin offers. To my surprise, the process really wasn’t bad at all. It’s was pretty warm on my face immediately after but the fan helped tremendously.

My top layer of skin definitely peeled but it wasn’t crazy. I wish y’all could have felt the skin on my face after it healed! 🙌🏼 😍 It was glowing and the texture was so much better. The benefits from this treatment are endless! I’ll forever praise microneedling and chemical peels because of how they transform my skin.

Nashville friends, you have to go check them out. Be sure to watch the “Sunday Skin” story highlight I’ve got saved with all the deets.

✨Ok, ladies! I want to know what is your favorite skincare treatment you’ve ever had?✨
Before the chaos of summer and our move happened, Before the chaos of summer and our move happened, we escaped to Mexico for a little vaca just the two of us. 🏝☀️

What a great trip to start this new chapter of our lives. We had uninterrupted time for each other. I started reading again and made it through two books. We got some serious vitamin D and put our phones down. Quite frankly, it was glorious.

Do y’all find that the longer you’re away from social media the harder it is to come back? Disconnecting feels sooooo good and it gives you perspective. So, if you haven’t seen me on here much… that’s why.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the rat race of social media. Especially when you run it as a business and feel the pressure to try and jump through IG’s hoops to get in front of the people who actually follow you and want to see your content. It’s a mental game that’s not fun to play. I miss the days where you could post freely. Without hashtags or any other tactics to get your picture in friends’ feed. Without wondering if the time of day is good to hit publish. Without wondering if you’ll get the likes and comments because that’s what helps you get jobs. It’s exhausting.
** My blogger friends will feel me deeply on this.

BUT what I do love about modern technology and these apps is the connection it’s brought me. I’ve got friends all over the US and these things keep me connected. They let me feel like I’m still a part of their lives from afar. It’s also allowed me to “meet” so many of you sweet IG friends. I’ve really enjoyed that aspect of this community over my 7 years on this app.

So if you follow me and happen to scroll across this today, thank you for being here.🤍 Truly.

Say hi in the comments or shoot me a DM. Talking with y’all and building relationships has always been my favorite thing about this space!

Something I made sure to do before leaving Nashvil Something I made sure to do before leaving Nashville was to get my brows redone and get lip blushing. I’m the kind of girl that loves to simplify where I can. The best thing about permanent makeup is that it helps you do just that. I don’t have to pencil in my brows anymore and all I wear is clear gloss. 😍🙌🏼 Obsessed is an understatement!

I was so excited to meet Lex (@cosmeticallyinkedbylex) and get in her chair! We picked a color for my lips and she did a color correction and powder brow. I’m so excited to share my results with y’all. I’ve had so many people asking where I got them done and…

Hey, friends! It’s been a while since I’ve sha Hey, friends! It’s been a while since I’ve shared anything on here. The past few months have flown by insanely fast since announcing that we were moving to Louisiana.

With a major transition happening with our family, I decided to put my phone down. I’ve spent the last few months spending time with my family, designing a new home build, packing our house, soaking in everything we loved in Franklin/Nashville, and being present.

To be honest, it’s all been a bit overwhelming. I moved so much throughout my life and have lived in many houses. As I began to truly process this move, I realized the gravity of leaving our home behind. We built it in seven years ago and brought 2 of my babies home here. It’s the longest house I’ve ever lived in and it was with MY family.

When all the boxes were gone, I walked through the rooms and around the house remembering all of the memories through each stage of our life over the years. I tried to take it all in, to freeze those moments in my mind knowing it was the last time I’d be in that house.

Walking out the front door one last time was the hardest thing I’ve done in a long time. I’m so thankful God brought us back here for a short time and all that came along with it. Many sweet memories were made on this porch and within these walls. This photo will always be one of my favorites. It signifies the close to this chapter of our lives in Franklin. I’m leaving a small bit of my heart here. We sure will miss you, Tennessee. ❤️
