Making Memories in the Kitchen

I don’t know about y’all, but everyone in my family has always gathered around the kitchen.  Whether it’s evenings at home or holidays when everyone comes together, there’s just something about food that brings people together.  It doesn’t hurt that it’s delicious, of course! Growing up in the south has allowed me to eat some pretty amazing food and it’s come from some pretty amazing women, too.

Now that I’m an adult and have a family of my own, I have a whole new respect for my mom, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers.  I now know how much love is poured into cooking through the time and preparation that go into each meal.  These ladies are and have been so precious to me and I cherish their recipes that have been handed down.  I have so many memories of cooking in the kitchen with them, so to be able to cook the same meals in my home means a lot.
